Russia’s 4 major operators sign deals for national base stations

MOSCOW, Dec 23 (PRIME) -- Russia’s four largest mobile operators, namely MTS, MegaFon, VimpelCom, working as Beeline, and T2 RTK Holding, working as Tele2, have signed forward contracts for shipments of national bases stations for their networks, the Digital Development Ministry said on Friday in a statement.

“The operators are to make a schedule of instalment of equipment until the end of March 2023. The supplies will start from 2025, and it will be possible to use only Russian base stations from 2028,” the ministry said.

Minister Maksut Shadayev earlier said that the operators would sign forward contracts with national manufacturers of base stations by the end of 2022. He added that the ministry would allocate target financial support for the producers under the deals.
